An impressive union of American historical tribute and traditional clockmaking, this Ridgeway “Victory at Yorktown” grandfather clock is number 680 from a limited edition of 1,000. Made in 1983 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the victory at Yorktown, it retains provenance documentation from its previous owner.

Standing 92 inches tall—7 feet 8 inches—the clock has a commanding architectural presence. Its richly grained mahogany case features a warm reddish-brown finish that highlights the wood’s natural character. A sweeping swan’s-neck pediment and central finial crown the case, while decorative inlay, fluted columns, ornate metallic capitals, and an urn motif on the lower panel give the piece distinction from its crest to its shaped base.

The commemorative dial forms the centerpiece, with engraved historical portraits, decorative hands, and a moon-phase display. Glass panels reveal the suspended brass weights and pendulum, while the patterned side grille adds another finely worked detail.

Recently professionally serviced and in excellent cosmetic and working condition, this example offers the reassurance of documented ownership and attentive care. Its substantial scale and detailed craftsmanship make it a striking focal point for an entrance hall, library, or formal living room.
