Beautifully detailed vintage cast iron bistro set. It features an intricately cast relief of robins nesting and perched above a clutch of eggs — a poignant motif symbolizing peace, partnership, and renewal.
Expertly crafted in solid cast iron, this set exemplifies mid to late 20th-century ornamental garden design, where natural themes were translated into enduring decorative form. The tabletop and chair backs display fine relief work, framed by graceful openwork scrolls that evoke a classical garden aesthetic.
*The tabletop is cast aluminum with its base cast iron, and the chairs are fully cast iron. The tabletop is cast aluminum instead of iron due to the extensive flat surface that will cause water to pool. Additionally, it is more rust-resistant than iron, so overexposure to water is mitigated. We recommend keeping every piece well-coated with an oil-based, weather-resistant paint.
