An exceptional matched set of four original Russell Woodard “Sculptura” lounge chairs, designed in 1956 and celebrated as an icon of mid-century modern outdoor design. These museum-worthy pieces are constructed of hand-formed, woven steel mesh over a wrought iron frame—an innovation that combined sculptural elegance with enduring strength.
The Sculptura line remains one of the most recognizable and collectible outdoor furniture designs of the 20th century. Notably, an original example resides in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
This set is presented in pristine condition, with no breaks, repairs, or mesh separations—offering the rare opportunity to acquire a complete and uniform grouping ready for display and use. The timeless black finish allows them to complement both modern and traditional settings, indoors or out.
Coated in one layer of primer, and two layers of protective, weather resistant oil-based gloss black paint.
