How we restore our furniture

Every piece of our inventory requires a lot of time and effort. We scour online resources to locate a particular set or item we are looking for, and in many cases, we travel hundreds of miles to get it. Because all our furniture is vintage or antique, it has spent long years either overly used or discarded in someone’s backyard.

Our first step is a meticulous inspection of all welds. We understand that rust or other factors can compromise the integrity of iron furniture. Any sign of damage is a safety concern, so if we detect a weak or damaged weld, our skilled welders will repair it, ensuring the safety and quality of the product.

Once we are satisfied with the furniture’s stability, we pay special attention to the feet. For many chairs, we install ‘Glides’ that are typically 1 1/2 inches and fit snugly into the bottom of the rounded foot. This prevents future scraping of your floors and protects the furniture itself. Additionally, we ensure that the chairs and tables are balanced to rest as evenly as possible on any surface, enhancing their durability.

Once the welds are reinforced and the furniture is balanced, we attempt to strip away as much previous coating as possible. Because this is older furniture, the original coating cannot always be 100% removed, as doing so might damage the metal beneath.

Finally, we send the wrought and cast iron furniture to our professional painters, who use the electrostatic paint method to ensure a premium coat that will last a lifetime.

Preparation of your items

Preparation of your purchase depends on the type of furniture it is. For most bistro sets and vintage furniture made of wood and upholstery, we will protect them with a layer of bubble wrap and wrapping paper. We then cover over this with a layer of industrial-strength plastic wrap.

We especially pay attention to careful wrapping and protection of the feet as this is the most vulnerable part of the chairs and table.

For most wrought-iron dining sets and wrought-iron chairs, it is sufficient to wrap the feet and skids. Our shippers will cover these items themselves with their own materials, such as moving blankets and plastic wrap.

All items are carefully analyzed for any loose screws, wobbly parts, or serious scores or damage.

All of our furniture is restored to as-close-to original condition as possible.

Shipping of your items

We use the same shipping service as Chairish, Etsy, and 1st Dibs. We only work with the highest-rated, most competent shippers to deliver your item in the same condition they were picked up at our warehouse.

We strive to deliver your items as soon as possible. In most cases, we can deliver within two to three weeks depending on your location.

In addition to wrapping your items in protective materials, your items will travel in a covered trailer so that they are not exposed to the elements during shipment.

Because of the nature of the delivery system, we cannot give you 100% accurate delivery date, but we can give you an estimate within a few days. We will also keep you updated throughout the shipment. And the final delivery day, time and location will be verified by the actual person delivering your items.

Delivery of your items

We expect your items to arrive in the same condition they were sent. It is important that you inspect your items carefully after delivery is made.

We do not pay our shippers until you are satisfied with the items so we ask that your inspection take place on the same day as delivery if possible.

Return Policy

Although our shippers are the most competent and professional, they are also human, so will make mistakes from time to time.

If you discover any major damage to your items, please contact us immediately. We will ask you to provide pictures with a brief description of the issues discovered. If it is determined the shipper is at fault, we will work to fix the item, at our cost, using a local vendor in your area. We can also make an offer to reimburse you an agreed-upon amount of money that will then put the responsibility for fixing the item on the buyer. If items are beyond repair, we will reimburse your money and arrange for items to be picked up.
